Summer field work: Video surveys in Conception Bay!

This summer, one of our MSc. students, Kaitlyn Charmley, surveyed the Holyrood Arm of Conception Bay aboard the D. Cartwright research vessel. She conducted video samples to observe the species that were present over a variety of the different environments found in this bay; including muddy flats, Rhodolith beds, and the rocky littoral zone. Future video samples will be collected in this bay across the different seasons. This footage will allow us to characterize the different communities present in the area and observe how these communities change over time and space.
