UGhent Blue Growth Summer School

Ghent University hosts the UGent Blue Growth Summer School, that focuses on teaching Master and PhD students about the growing Blue Economy in Europe. Two of our lab’s students, Poppy Keogh and Julia Mackin-McLaughlin, joined this past 2019 class. The program teaches about the marine and maritime sciences, including marine spatial planning, renewable energy, ocean sustainability, and aquaculture. Students spent time both in the classroom and in excursions, one of which was a field trip to a Belgian offshore windfarm.
